The thing I loved the most about Tokyo is that it's a city that happens in all 3 dimensions and maybe even a fourth, as opposed to LA where thing only happen on the x and y axis . Anything can be anywhere at anytime. Bowling Alley or a Toilet Showroom on the 25th floor, no problem. Full Scale Retail Mall or Pachinko Parlor 2 stories underground? also not a problem. As well as embracing things you don't ordinarily find in an American City like 50 foot tall Gorilla Statues hanging from the sides of buildings or 100 foot tall animating Crab Signs flailing their legs on the side of a sckyscraper. And at least 7 layers of transportation starting with 3 levels of subways underground, street traffic, local trains, bullet train tracks and the expressway above that towering 100 feet off the ground.

Just when you think the wheel can't get any rounder, leave it to the Japanese to improve one of the most perfect inventions ever made. This is not a chicken drumstick, but an ingenious new form of Q-Tip with one end equipped with a small spoon for scraping the gunk out of your ears. I like this invention very much.
Just got back from 2 weeks in Japan. My head exploded about a thousand times while there. I didn't do as many drawings as i would have liked, but I did a few and over the next few weeks I'll be chronicling what I saw and what I "Like and Dont Like" about Japan.

Our trip started with a bit of Japanese culture right here at LAX as we saw a ravenous horde of horny teenagers tearing the porno magazine rack to shreds.

Ordinarily I don't put stuff from work up, but since all I've been doing lately is work related, and since I kind of liked the way this one turned out, here it is. It's from Darrick Bachman's and my short in development at Cartoon Network.

Here's something I saw a while ago while waiting to get a haircut. It was beautiful.

Got into LAX last night at 12:30 when they were putting all the planes to sleep. They had the back doors opened up and were throwing garbage bags out into a heap on the ground below. It looked like all the planes were taking a shit. I call this one "Planes Taking a Shit".

Angka: A fabulous bird in the folklore of the Middle East described as having a human face and resembling a Griffin or Simurgh. It was said to inhabit the Kaf Mountains, where it devoured anything living it came across. It was so successful that it hunted everything to extinction, resulting in it's own demise.

Here's the only part I like. It's based in Philadelphia in 1976.
Here's a crazy job I just had. Doing a poster for the live action Disney movie "Invincible" starring Mark Wahlburg... (here's the good part) for a Korean Airline's Inflight Magazine. I know it doesn't look like Mark Wahlburg, but they said they didn't care. It's based more on the guy the film was made about named Vince Papale, he's way more fun to draw. I'm sure if Disney had any idea how their film was being marketed they'd have a fuckin' heart attack.
