Maybe you already knew this, but while watching a documentary about Industrial Britain the other day, I learned that the term "Glory Hole" is actually the hole of a furnace that glass blowers use to make their wares.
Here we see Tim Hucklebee "King of the Goblet Makers" exhibiting his "keen capacity to blow".

Funny that you should talk about "Glory Hole". My Mom did a series of paintings, one of which she titled...you guessed it. I asked her if she knew the alternate meaning for this phrase. When she said "no", I dropped the conversation immediately while suppressing laughter.
